A guide to the Network+ practice test

How the questions are chosen, how to study with them, and what your score tells you.

This free Network+ practice test is built for the learning stage of your preparation. It draws 10 questions from all 5 domains of the CompTIA Network+ exam outline, so one sitting touches every area of the syllabus, not just the topics you already like. The full bank behind it has 5,506 questions. You see straight away whether each answer was right, and your report explains the ones you missed, which turns a wrong answer into something you remember.

How the Network+ questions are weighted

The Network+ exam does not treat its domains equally. Networking Concepts carries 23% of the exam and Network Security carries 22%. Together, the three heaviest domains account for 64% of your score, while Network Operations is the lightest at 17%. The practice test samples every domain, and your report ranks them by how many marks each one is costing you, so you can see whether a weak score sits in a domain that matters a lot or one that matters a little.

How to study with Network+ practice questions

Practice questions work best as a study tool rather than a score check. A method that holds up:

  1. Answer before you look. Commit to an option, even when you are unsure, so the explanation corrects a real decision instead of confirming a guess you never made.
  2. Read every explanation, including the ones you got right. A correct guess is still a gap, and the exam will find it.
  3. Keep a short error log by domain. Patterns appear after twenty or thirty questions, not after one.
  4. Fix your weakest heavy domain first, then retest it. Moving from 50% to 70% in a heavily weighted domain lifts your overall score more than polishing one you already know.

What your Network+ practice score means

Your result is shown against a 90% readiness line. Below about 60% in a domain, the material is still new: go back to the Network+ study guide before practising more. Between 60% and 89%, you know the ideas but miss the details the exam tests, which is where practice questions with explanations help most. At 90% or above, keep that domain fresh with an occasional set and spend your time elsewhere. One short test is a snapshot, so read a single score as a direction rather than a verdict.

Network+ practice test or mock exam?

Practice questions with instant feedback are for learning. Once most of your domains sit near the ready line, switch to the timed Network+ mock exam, which runs under exam conditions with no feedback until the end. The real exam fee is listed as $338, so checking your readiness before you book is time well spent.

Network+ practice test questions, answered

Most people practise first, then decide on a plan once they see their weak domains.

Is this Network+ practice test free?

Yes. The 10-question Network+ practice test is free with no card. We ask a few setup questions and your first name and email, so we can send your report.

How many questions are in the free Network+ practice test?

10 questions drawn from all 5 domains, weighted the way the real exam weights them. The full bank has 5,506 questions.

Does the Network+ practice test show answers and explanations?

Yes. After each question you see whether you were right, the correct answer, and an explanation. The full reasoning, including why each wrong option is wrong, comes with a plan.

Can I skip Network+ practice questions?

Yes. Skip any question and come back to the topic later. Skipped questions are listed in your report so you know what to revisit.

Is the Network+ practice test timed?

No. It is for learning, so there is no countdown. The clock shows how long you have spent. For exam conditions, use the timed Network+ mock exam.

What is the difference between the Network+ practice test and the mock exam?

The practice test explains every answer as you go, so you learn while you test. The mock exam runs under exam conditions with a timer and no feedback until the end. Most people practise first, then sit the mock.

What topics does the Network+ practice test cover?

All 5 domains of the CompTIA Network+ blueprint: Networking Concepts (23%), Network Security (22%), Network Implementation (19%), Network Troubleshooting (19%), Network Operations (17%).

What do I get at the end of the Network+ practice test?

Your score against the 90% readiness line, your 2 weakest domains, and what to study first. A plan adds every domain score, a study roadmap to your exam date, mock exams and a tutor.

What are the Network+ plans?

Three ways to get ready: Monthly Access ($49 a month), Practice Mode ($199 once, valid until you pass) and Pass Mode, a guided plan with support until you are exam-ready. Every plan includes the readiness diagnostic, a study roadmap built from your results, adaptive practice and a tutor.

How much does the Network+ exam cost?

The exam fee is listed as $338. Check the official exam provider for current pricing.
