About LIC AAO

The LIC ADO, Life Insurance Corporation of India- Apprentice Development Officer, conducts the LIC AAO Exam for various posts for Assistant Administrative Officer. The exam is held every year but the number of vacancies differ from year to year depending on the requirements.

Eligibility

Aspirants who would like to appear for the LIC AAO Exam need to fulfill the following requirements-

-         Is within the age limit of 21 to 30. There is a 5 years more than mentioned age limit relaxation for SC/ST, and 3 years more for OBC candidates.

-         Has a Bachelors or Masters degree from a recognized University in any of the relevant fields.

Selection Process

There are two stages of the LIC AAO Exam, the AAO Prelims and the AAO Mains. Once the candidates qualify the two stages they need to give an Interview which is followed by a Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination. The selection of the candidates depends on the marks scored in the Main exam combined with the Interview round.

Exam Pattern

For the LIC AAO Prelims exam, the test is conducted online. The questions are of the objective type. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

For the LIC AAO Mains exam, the test is also conducted online. Here also the questions are objective type. Only difference lies in the English Language section of the exam where the candidates have to attempt descriptive questions.

In the final selection of the candidates, the English Language marks are not counted but only considered in the qualifying nature.

Syllabus And Subject-Wise Weightage

The following sections are part of the LIC AAO Prelims Exam-

-         Reasoning Ability- 35 questions, 35 marks, and have 20 minutes

-         Numerical Ability- 35 questions, 35 marks, and have 20 minutes

-         English: Language with special emphasis on grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension- 30 marks, 30 minutes, and have 20 minutes

In total, the Prelims Exam is of 100 marks and candidates have a total of 60 minutes to complete their exam.

For the LIC AAO Mains Exam, following sections have to be attempted by the candidates-

-         Reasoning- 30 questions, 90 marks, and have 40 minutes

-         General Knowledge and Current Affairs- 30 questions, 60 marks, and have 20 minutes

-         Professional Knowledge- 30 questions, 90 marks, and have 40 minutes

-         Insurance and Financial Market Awareness- 30 questions, 60 marks, and have 20 minutes

-         English Language: Letter Writing and Essay/ Legal Drafting for AAO- 2 questions, 25 marks, and have 30 minutes

In total 300 marks are allotted in the Mains Exam without considering the English Language section. ¼ marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
