About NEET
NEET, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, is one of the toughest exams not only in India but in the world. National Test Agency, NTA, has taken responsibility since 2019 to conduct the exam. With changing times and the introduction of a new syllabus, the pattern of NEET has also changed and evolved.
Eligibility
Students who have passed their 10+2 exam, or any equivalent exam are eligible for NEET. One also needs to keep in mind that subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and English were part of their 12 Boards or equivalent exam.
NEET Syllabus
The NEET UG Syllabus is based on the topics covered in Class 11 and 12 CBSE, ICSE, and other such equivalent state boards. The NEET syllabus is usually divided into two parts- Part 1 based on Class 11 topics, and Part 2 based on Class 12 topics. The core subjects of the exam are Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.
NEET Pattern And Marks
The NEET exam contains a total of 200 questions out of which aspirants must answer 180 questions. For 2022, the exam will be divided into two sections- Section A and Section B.
The questions are in the multiple-choice format. For every right answer, candidates will be awarded 4 marks, and for every wrong answer, there will be a negative 1 marking. The exam is in pen and paper mode with 3 hours allocatted to complete the exam. The languages in which aspirants can appear for the exam are English, Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Oriya, Kannada, and Urdu.
The exam has a total of 720 marks. It does seem like a pretty intimidating exam given the pressure and challenge aspirants face while appearing for the exam.
