How the CISSP mock exam works

About a minute of setup, a timed exam, then your result. Nothing is revealed until you finish, as in the real exam.

  1. Tell us about your exam

Your exam date, which attempt this is, your weekly study time and the domains that worry you. One question at a time.

  2. Sit the timed exam

16 questions spread across every domain, up to 16 minutes. Pick an answer and the next one appears. No going back.

  3. See where you stand

Your readiness against the 90% line, every domain ranked, your blind spots, and a roadmap sized to your exam date.

What the CISSP mock exam covers

Questions come from all 8 domains of the CISSP blueprint, weighted the way the real exam weights them. Your result scores each domain separately.

Why a CISSP mock exam score alone can mislead you

A good mock score is sometimes followed by a failed exam. Here is why, and what a readiness score adds.

A mock exam score answers one question: how many you got right today. Passing the CISSP depends on more than that. Candidates who score well on mocks and still fail usually ran into one of four problems that a single number hides.

Four ways a mock score gives a false signal

  1. An average hides a weak domain. 75% overall can include one domain at 40%. Security and Risk Management alone is 16% of the CISSP exam, so a gap there costs far more than a good overall score suggests.
  2. Repeated mocks reward memory. Retake the same question pool and the score climbs because you recognise the questions, not because you know the material.
  3. One sitting is noisy. A short mock samples only a few questions per domain. Two lucky guesses can move the score by several points.
  4. Difficulty varies. A mock that is easier than the real exam inflates your confidence right before you book.

What the Edureify readiness score adds

Your readiness score weights every domain the way the CISSP exam does, and flags any domain below the 60% minimum even when your overall score looks safe. Each retake uses fresh questions, so a rising score means you learned something rather than remembered it. And it turns your gap into time: how many focused hours stand between you and the 90% ready line, and the date you get there at your pace.

When to book the CISSP exam

Book when every domain is above the minimum and your readiness has held at 90% or more across at least two attempts with different questions. One high score can be a good day. Two in a row is a pattern you can rely on. With the exam fee listed at $699, that second check is cheap insurance.

Pick the plan that fits your timeline

The mock exam and your result are free. Every plan adds the roadmap, adaptive practice, fresh mock exams and a tutor. The difference is how much guidance you want.

CISSP mock exam questions, answered

Still deciding? Most people start with the free mock and decide on the plan once they see their result.

Is there a free CISSP mock exam?

Yes. The CISSP mock exam is free and needs no card. You answer 16 timed questions, then get your readiness score, your domain breakdown and a roadmap overview. Before you start we ask a few setup questions and your first name and email, so we can send your report.

How many questions are on the CISSP mock exam, and how long does it take?

16 questions drawn from all 8 domains, with up to 16 minutes on the clock. It samples every domain, so it is a readiness check rather than a full-length copy of the real exam.

What does the CISSP mock exam cover?

It covers the 8 domains of the CISSP blueprint, weighted to match: Security and Risk Management (16%), Security Architecture and Engineering (13%), Communication and Network Security (13%), Identity and Access Management (IAM) (13%), Security Operations (13%), Security Assessment and Testing (12%), Asset Security (10%), Software Development Security (10%).

What score do I need on the CISSP mock exam?

Your result is shown against a 90% readiness threshold, overall and for each domain. It estimates how ready you are. It is not the exam provider's official passing score, so check the provider for official scoring rules.

Is the CISSP mock exam like the real exam?

It follows the blueprint domains and weightings and runs under exam conditions: a timer, one question at a time, no going back, and no answers or explanations until you finish. It is a shorter sample, so treat it as a readiness check.

How do I find my weak areas for the CISSP?

Take the mock exam. Your result is scored domain by domain, so you see which domains cost you the most marks, ranked weakest first, and your roadmap starts from those gaps.

What is the difference between a CISSP mock exam and a practice test?

The practice test explains each answer as you go, which suits finding gaps early. The mock exam runs under exam conditions with a timer, no going back and no feedback until the end, which suits checking where you stand. Take the practice test first, then the mock exam.

When should I take a CISSP mock exam?

Once you have covered most of the material. Use the result to find weak domains, study those, then retake the mock to check your readiness has moved before you book or sit the real exam.

How much does the real CISSP exam cost?

The exam fee is listed as $699. Fees change, so check the official exam provider for current pricing.

Can I retake the CISSP mock exam?

Free users get 1 retake with a fresh set of questions. Every study plan includes unlimited mock exams with fresh questions and your score history.

What are the CISSP study plans?

Three ways to get ready: Monthly Access, Practice Mode ($199 once, valid until you pass) and Pass Mode, a guided plan with support until you are exam-ready. Every plan includes the readiness diagnostic, a day-by-day roadmap built from your mock exam result, adaptive practice, fresh mock exams and a tutor.
